Where have I been, why
and what do I come back to?
Not one thought or form,
nor easily explained
in terms of another.
Followed without knowing,
advice, or consent.
Not what I thought I was
waiting for, or about.
But a brief history
of a meager poet’s form—
his body of work laid down
in fragments
on pure white sheets of paper.

스티븐 J 싸이펏은 과학자, 작가, 달리기 선수이며 시인이다. Edward Albee Foundation으로부터 a writing residency(저술 장려금)를 수상했다. Aeronwy Thomas와 Welsh 시인인 Peter Thabit Jones가 출연하는 Dylan Thomas Tribute Tour(작품 발표 순회 여행)를 기획했다. “The Paterson Literary Review” 시와 서평지 제40호에 그의 시가 실렸다.
